ID yourself

This quiz is loosely based on the mind-body integrated approach to well-being and has been adapted by Sister Lilian from Sister Lilian Centre, who since her career started in 1975, has been interested to find more effective and innovative ways of helping people understand themselves and attain the best ‘bio-emotional’ results they possibly can.

Sister Lilian has consistently observed that humans can be divided into three main ‘bio-emotional’ categories. These categories bear some similarities to those of other personality theories and mind-body wellness approaches. Sister Lilian calls the categories ‘bio-emotional’ because they reflect some typical physical traits (‘bio’) and some typical psychological (or emotional) traits. Identifying these recurring categories led Sister Lilian to formulate ways of helping people in a more individual way, instead of expecting everyone to respond in the same way to a single health or nutritional approach.

The purpose of this fun quiz is to show that, just as most people accept that they are and have a right to be an individual, everyone should know and accept that in practice this means that there is not only one right way to eat, to exercise, or to treat health problems. The result of your quiz is linked to tips from Sister Lilian Centre which will highlight some of the adjustments you could make to help optimise your bio-emotional strengths and assist with your bio-emotional life challenges.

IMPORTANT!

Remember these important things before you ‘classify’ yourself:

  • For some statements, your choice will be obvious. For those that aren’t easy to evaluate yourself on, answer according to how you have felt and acted most of your life, or at least for the past few years.
  • One category isn’t ‘better’ than the other, and there are no ‘wrong’ or ‘right’ types.
  • Each category has likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses.
  • You might find that you fall into more than one category, but one will usually be more dominant than the other two.

how to do the ID yourself quiz

  1. Read each of the 90 statements below and evaluate if it applies to you or not, clicking on ‘yes’ or ‘no’ – choose yes, if the statement mostly applies to you, or you identify strongly with it; and choose ‘no’, if it seldom applies to you or you don’t see yourself in the description.
  2. Once you have completed this and submitted your login details, you will almost instantaneously receive a message telling you in which of the three bio-emotional categories you scored highest.
  3. You will then be able to read Sister Lilian’s ten lifestyle tips for your category, to help you attain greater well-being. Sometimes, one has characteristics of more than one category – this is totally normal and goes to prove that humans are rather complex. This simple quiz will not highlight all these possibilities but will give you a good description of some major influences in your life.
