ID your baby

Over Sister Lilian Centre’s many years of learning about and working with babies and children, we have consistently seen that little ones can be divided into three main ‘bio-emotional’ categories. These categories bear some similarities to those of other personality theories and mind-body wellness approaches. Sister Lilian Centre calls the categories ‘bio-emotional’ because they reflect some typical physical traits (‘bio’) and some typical psychological (or emotional) traits.

Identifying these recurring categories led Sister Lilian Centre to formulate ways of helping parents to approach their little ones in a more individual way, instead of expecting all babies and children to respond in the same way to a single parenting approach. Once you have assessed your baby or child, see a few helpful hints from Sister Lilian Centre to guide you in raising your little bio-emotional individual more easily and happily.

This quiz is intended for a bit of fun, but also to remind parents that babies are individuals and need this to be respected, just as adults respect their own right to individuality. Remember these three important things before you ‘classify’ your baby:

  • One category isn’t ‘better’ than the other, and there are no ‘wrong’ or ‘right’ types.
  • Each category has likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses.
  • Your baby might fall into more than one category, but one will usually be more dominant.

how to do the ID your baby quiz

  1. Read each of the 45 statements carefully, and click on ‘yes’ or ‘no’, depending which seems relevant to your little one.
  2. Once you have completed this and submitted your login details, you will almost instantaneously receive a message telling you in which of the three categories you scored the highest.
  3. You will then be able to read Sister Lilian Centre’s hints for the category in which your baby attained the highest score. Sometimes, babies have characteristics of more than one category – this is totally normal and goes to prove that humans are rather complex. This simple quiz will not highlight all these possibilities, but it will give you a good description of some major influences in your little one’s life.
